Ultra Marathon Bus to Moke Lake & Mountain Marathon Helis (prebooked only)
5.30am pickup from 9 Duke Street, Queenstown - an approx 20min journey to Moke Lake. (please be on-site and ready 10 minutes before departure)
30km Adventure Run Helicopter Bus (prebooked only)
6.30am pickup from 9 Duke Street, Queenstown - - approx 20min journey to Moke Lake to meet the helicopter. (please be on-site and ready 10 minutes before departure)
Mountain Marathon Buses to Start
Depart at 6:00am from Moke Lake, and 6:15am from outside 35 Shotover St in central Queenstown. Please be at your pick up location at least 10 minutes prior.
30km Adventure Run Buses to Start
Depart at 7:00am from Moke Lake, and 7:15am from 35 Shotover St in central Queenstown. Please be at your pick up location at least 10 minutes prior.
Mountain Marathon and 30km Adventure Run Helicopter Timings
Those who have booked helicopter transfers from Moke Lake need to be there by 6:40am (Mountain Marathon) and 7:15am (30km Adventure Run). If you booked bus transport to the heli-flights this will depart 0530 (Mountain Marathon) and 0630 (30km) from 9 Duke St (NZ Ski, Ultimate Hikes Bus stop).
Half Marathon and 10km Trail Run Buses (if pre booked)
Queenstown to Moke Lake transport will depart at 0930 from 9 Duke St in Central Queenstown. Please be at your pick up location at least 10 minutes prior.
Moke Lake to Queenstown Transport - All Distances (Pre Booked)
The first return bus will depart after the short race prize giving at approx 2:30pm and then depart hourly.
Driving to Moke Lake
For those self driving to Moke Lake please allow a minimum of 20 minutes to drive from central Queenstown.
Mountain Marathon and 30km Adventure Race.
All entrants in the Mountain Marathon and 30km Adventure Race must use the Transport provided to the race start (cost is included in entry fee). You cannot drive yourself or be dropped off at the race start in Skippers Canyon. The only alternative is to book a helicopter transfer from Moke Lake during registration (additional $150)
Our transport will be provided by local transport and tourism providers on the morning of the race – departing either from the race finish at Moke Lake or central Queenstown. You will select your preferred location when registering. (Note you will be able to change this up until the 31st of January).
OPTION 1: Pick Up -Moke Lake
If you choose this option you will need to drive a short distance from Queenstown (approx 14km / allow 20 mins drive time) to the race finish at Moke Lake where parking facilities will be available for you to leave your car near the finish line – so that when you complete the event your vehicle and personal items will be nearby.
Please ensure you are at your chosen pick up location at least 10 minutes before the bus departure time.
OPTION 2: Pick Up – Queenstown
If you are staying in Queenstown the night before the race and have somebody to collect you from the finish at Moke Lake – there is no need to travel to Moke Lake on the morning of the race. You can simply be picked up at our central pick up point in the Queenstown CBD
Please ensure you are at your chosen pick up location at least 10minutes before the bus departure time.

6.45am Helicopter pickup of Mountain Marathon athletes from Moke Lake for transfer to Skippers Canyon race start. Please be at location at least 10-15 minutes prior
7.10am First Mountain Marathon Athletes arrive at race Start at Pipeline Bridge, Skippers Canyon
7.30am All Mountain Marathon athletes make their way down to the race start at the Shotover River beach
7.50am Race course and safety briefing at race start area beside Shotover River
8.00am Mountain Marathon race starts

8.00am 30km Adventure Run athletes make their way down to the race start

Luggage and Bags
*A luggage vehicle will be located near to the start line to transport personal belongings to the finish Line at Moke Lake. Please keep items in drop bags to a minimum and easily recognisable upon pick up.
Directions to event finish at Moke Lake (This is also the start for the Half Marathon, 10km Trail Run and Vertical Kilometre)
From Queenstown to Moke Lake – (APPROX 14km / 20 mins)
- From Shotover St (Main Street in Queenstown)
- Continue on to Lake Esplanade (700m)
- At the roundabout, take the 1st EXIT on to Glenorchy Road (5.4km)
- Turn ‘RIGHT’ on to Moke Lake Road (2.5km)
- Drive straight on to a gravel Road and follow this road for approx (5km) until you reach the Moke Lake Campground. Park at the far western end of the camp ground, following the signs and instructions of Race Officials.
