5 & 10km Trail Runs


The 5km and 10km trail runs begin at Moke Lake alongside the half marathon, and follow the farm road as it climbs gently above Moke Creek. Well marked routes take you down 4wd tracks to Moke Creek, and you then loop back to the finish at Moke Lake. Views are beautiful in each direction, and the 10km descends through historic goldmine tailings.

10km Trail Run

Adult - $45

Under 18 - $25

Under 10 - free with paying adult


5km Trail Run

Adult - $30

Under 18 - $20

Under 10 - free with paying adult


9.30am    Registration opens for 21km, 10km and 5km at Moke Lake

10.30am  Registration closes for 21km, 10km and 5km

10.50am  21km race briefing (all racers to be present)

11.00am 21km race starts

11.20am 10 and 5km race briefing (all racers to be present)

11.30am 10km race start

11.45am 5km race start

12.15pm First 5km athletes expected to finish, followed by 10km athletes

12.45pm First 21km athletes expected to finish.

2.30pm  21km,10km and 5km prizegiving.  This allows 3.5hrs for 21km racers, 3hr for 10km and 2hr 45m for 5km racers

Are you entering the Shotover Moonlight Mountain Marathon, 30km, half marathon or 10km race? 

Would you like to helicopter to the start?

You could stay at either Ben Lomond Lodge or Moonlight Lodge the night before the race.

Leave your car at the finish line at Moke Lake and we'll take you into our lodges for a fantastic meal and great company. 

2018 Race and Supporters Packages to be announced.
Packages include transport to either Ben Lomond or Moonlight Lodge, dinner, bed, breakfast and a stunning helicopter flight to the start of the race.
